Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

Tomorrow is an exciting day full of Cathedral traditions! Students will start their day with classes and go to their normal lunch periods. All students will then participate in our County Fair and there will be snacks and Kona Ice for sale outside during County Fair time (snacks must be paid for with cash). Irish 500 will begin at 1:15. Parents are welcome to come and watch, however, please be sure to follow the directions of officers and staff if you are parking on campus. For the safety of our students, it is imperative that we do not block entrances/exit or the circle. Please note that any senior coming on campus for Irish 500 will be breathalyzed at the door.

I am looking forward to the wonderful energy that always accompanies this day! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know!

Young ladies wear light colored dresses; young men wear dress pants, dress shirt, tie, and dress shoes. All shoes are to be of dressy in nature. Graduation: Graduation is at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, at the Old National Center Murat Theater. Doors open at noon. It is important to note that we do not have the ability to let anyone in the theater or lobby before noon. This includes using the restrooms, extreme heat, cold, or rainy conditions. Please understand that this the theater’s policy and is completely out of our control. If you plan on arriving early, please plan ahead. No food or drink is permitted in the theater. Water will be available for purchase once inside. Students should arrive at noon in their caps and gowns. The attire is the same for graduation as for the Baccalaureate Mass. Everyone except the graduate needs a ticket. Each student will be issued tickets to distribute to their family. Seating is first-come, first-served and may be tight. To accomodate all of our guests, we would ask that you do not leave seats between groups or families. Handicapped seating is available and Old National ushers will be available to help find those locations. Graduation normally lasts a little short of two hours and will be streamed live on the school’s Facebook Page.

Parking at Graduation: Each student will be issued one parking pass for their family in the theatre lot. The pass must be shown to access the lot.

Diploma: Diplomas are issued only to those who have completed all requirements for graduation and have met all financial obligations as well as all other school responsibilities including service hours. If a student has an outstanding bill for any issue, the diploma will be held. Diplomas will be mailed to graduates after graduation.

Caps and Gowns: Caps and Gowns will be delivered on Monday, May 13th at Graduation practice. The Gowns are owned by Cathedral High School and are only rented by the students. After the graduation ceremony, students will be ushered back to the staging room to return their graduation gowns. Gowns must be returned to receive their diplomas. Students may keep their caps and tassels.
