Message from the Principal’s Office

Dear Parents,

I wanted to let you know that after much discussion with the academic leadership team, I have decided to make some minor changes to our e-Learning schedule to serve our students and teachers better after we return from spring break. Below you’ll see a modified schedule that we think accomplishes two main goals: One, it keeps a similar pattern for students to stay on a consistent, familiar schedule. And two, it builds in a day each week (Holy Cross Days) with no new learning, so students and teachers can catch their breath and spend time with family.

To ensure we are prepared, we also included a schedule once we return in May. We have also included a schedule should we not be able to return in May. We pray that will not be the case.

As you can see, our adjusted schedule does not list senior final exams. The administration is continuing to research what will be best for our seniors since we have adjusted our instructional schedule this semester.  Once we have more definitive information about our return to “in-class learning,” we will share information regarding final exams/assessments.

AP students will be expected to take the AP exam that they are signed up for online. Students will get more information from our AP director, Mrs. Carver, as we get closer to that testing window.

Since IB has canceled course assessments, we will be getting you more information after spring break regarding final IB assessments.

We offer our sincerest thanks to all of our parents for your efforts to help our students adjust. I am very proud of our Cathedral family as we continue to embrace a new way of learning.  Our teachers and staff members continue to work hard from the comfort and safety of their own homes. All Cathedral employees, both salaried and hourly, will continue to receive compensation during our e-Learning format. Cathedral wants to ensure that no employee faces financial hardship during this unprecedented time.

Cathedral High School will always remain committed to providing your students with the best virtual educational experience possible. It is important for us to keep our connections strong, teach content and curriculum, while also nurturing our students spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally.  Each day, we discover new tools and resources to advance our mission to provide the best possible education for our students.

We will continue to text our morning prayer to students at the start of each school day. We will also continue to upload other encouraging videos on our website,, as an effort to stay connected and offer a bit of inspiration. Please continue to encourage your children to visit this page of our website every day.

We encourage our families to unify with us and join us in celebration of Mass this Sunday, March 29.  You can watch the Mass Sunday at 11:00 on Cathedral’s Facebook page at Also, please consider saying this prayer each day with your family at dinner time.  As St. Therese says, “We must abandon the future into the hands of God.”  May God’s peace be with you all!
