2018 Canned Food Drive
 

Collection Dates/Times:  11/12 (Monday) 7-7:40 am; 11/14 (Wednesday) 7:30-8:20 am; 11/15 (Thursday) 7:00-7:40 am.  All collection is in the cafeteria and ONLY during the times specified.

Notes:  Items should be brought in bags/boxes that do not need returned.  Students will not be issued passes if they are late to class, so they should arrive at the beginning of the collection times to avoid the lines.  No extra credit will be issued for cans not brought to the cafeteria on the assigned mornings during the appropriate times.
The following full-sized items have been requested by the food pantries we serve.  Please collect and/or purchase these items.  Your donating a variety of these items is especially appreciated!
Canned vegetables (green beans, corn, yams, carrots, mixed vegetables)
Canned fruit (peaches, pears, pineapple, fruit cocktail)
Canned meats
Canned pasta dinners (ravioli, spaghetti-o’s, etc.)
Canned soup (all varieties)
Peanut Butter
Boxed macaroni and cheese
Boxed mashed potatos
Boxed stuffing mix
Your donations will provide much-needed food for those served by:  Holy Cross Catholic Outreach, St. Louis de Montfort, Providence Christo Rey,  Mid-North Food Pantry, Boulevard Place Food Pantry, Little Sisters of the Poor, Lord’s Pantry/Anna’s House, St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, and Cathedral HS Habitat baskets.
 
Incentives:  Students who participate may wear jeans/sweats and Cathedral spirit wear on the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving AND earn a point for their county.  In addition, the math department will offer the following for those who check in their cans with any math teacher in the cafeteria at the times designated above:
–For 1% added to the first-semester exam:  20 cans OR $10
–For 2% added to the first-semester exam:  35 cans OR 15 cans and $10
–For 3% added to the first-semester exam:  50 cans OR  30 cans and $10
