While Cathedral High School does not provide any advice regarding personal income tax requirements or filing, we do want to inform parents that IC 6-3-2-22 authorizes taxpayers to claim a $1,000 income tax deduction for each dependent who is enrolled in a private school or who is home schooled in grades K-12 and incurs costs for tuition, fees, computer software, textbooks or school supplies. To claim this credit, you will need to provide your accountant with the following information: Cathedral High School #C700 under the Archdiocese of Indianapolis #9200.

Nurses Corner:

Cathedral has had a confirmed case of head lice. To find more information on the prevention and care, please click this link. Please note that anyone can get head lice. It is a problem in many communities, and does not reflect poor hygiene. We ask parents and students to do your part to prevent the spread of this communicable condition by checking your child should they have any symptoms. Lice infestation is much easier to treat if caught early. If you suspect your child has head lice, we ask that it be treated properly. Students should not return to school…

Attempt to Derail the Choice Program

Jon Brissman, ’62 has been named Cathedral High School’s Legislative Liaison! Below is some important information he would like to share: A legislator from Indianapolis, Rep. Dan Forestal, is attempting to derail the Choice program by challenging religious-based schools’ rights to operate out of their faith beliefs and values. He is reacting to a contract situation at Roncalli in which he is personally involved, calling the school’s values-based practices discriminatory. He has officially submitted an amendment to the legislature trying to infringe upon a choice school’s religious liberty. If he is successful, many faith-based schools, including Cathedral, would not be able to participate…

Christian Service Hours Due Monday, April 29th!

Christian Service Hours Due Monday, April 29th! Parents, please make sure that your students are actively completing their requirements. We are noticing an overwhelming amount of students that are not reading their CHS Student Emails, therefore are missing important information from me. Many agencies have Sign Ups and turn away students not on the list. Please have your student see Shannon Fox if they need help. Check to also see that they are recording hours on Mobileserve. sfox@gocathedral.com
